Epidemiological Observatory. Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence to monitor and prevent epidemics

The Epidemiological Observatory aims to generate a new collection of open epidemiological models for the scientific and health community to prevent, early detect and mitigate the spread of epidemics through the combination of Big Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The Observatory will launch different research projects to analyze the spread of epidemics based on mobility, census, epidemiological, environmental and meteorological data that will provide a depth of analysis that does not currently exist.

The objectives of the Observatory are:

  • To be a tool for change in the early detection of epidemic outbreaks.
  • To identify strategies that can quickly target subpopulations for surveillance and control during epidemics.
  • To improve containment and mitigation processes.
